What is the Northern Gothic Collective Hexmas Market?
The Northern Gothic Collective’s Hexmas Market at the Common Room is a unique event showcasing a variety of North-East artists, antique sellers, artisans, craft makers, luxury food vendors, tarot readings, and much more!
Our 3rd Alternative Market promises another unique experience, just like our previous events! We take immense pride in curating an eclectic array of vendors, from gothic decor to occult treasures.
When and where is the event taking place?
The market will be held on Saturday, November 28th 2026, at the Common Room, Neville Hall, Westgate Road, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 1SE (just a short walk from Newcastle Central Station) from 11:30am until 5pm.
Is there an admission fee?
No! This event is Free-Entry – children under 14 are welcome but will need to be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

The Common Room (Neville Hall) is fully accessible. The venue features level access options, wide doorways, and lift access connecting all main public floors, including event spaces, exhibition halls, and facilities.
Where is the accessible entrance located?
The main entrance to Neville Hall on Westgate Road includes step-free access options. Automatic doors and level entryways ensure smooth access for visitors using wheelchairs, mobility scooters, or strollers.
Are there accessible toilets and baby-changing facilities on site?
Yes, fully accessible, gender-neutral toilets and baby-changing facilities are available across multiple floors of the venue. All accessible restrooms are fitted with emergency pull cords and grab rails.
Are assistance dogs permitted at events?
Absoutely. Guide dogs, hearing dogs, and registered assistance animals are fully welcome throughout The Common Room and all event spaces. Drinking bowls can also be provided upon request.
What accessible transport options are nearby?
Located right next to Newcastle Central Station (NE1 1SE), the venue is easily reached via accessible Metro, train, and local bus routes. Dropping off directly outside the entrance on Westgate Road is available for blue badge holders and taxi drop-offs.
What kind of items will be for sale?
Expect to find a wide range of gothic, alternative, and handmade items, including home decor, artwork, ethical taxidermy, candles, tarot readings, sweet treats, burgers, and more.

Yes, there will be food and drink vendors on site offering a variety of options to suit different tastes.

Is there parking available?
There is no dedicated on-site parking at The Common Room (Neville Hall). However, there are several nearby options for visitors:
On-Street Parking: Paid meter parking is available along Westgate Road and Forth Street. (Note: Westgate Road operates on a one-way system, so parking spaces are situated prior to reaching the building entrance).
Multi-Story / Nearby Car Parks: Stephenson Quarter Car Park (NE1 3PH) – approximately a 5-minute walk away.
Grainger Town Car Park (Waterloo Street, NE1 4DN).
Times Square Car Park (Railway Street, NE1 4AD).
Blue Badge & Drop-Offs: The nearest drop-off points are located along Westgate Road and Orchard Street next to the accessible entrance.
